Preparing for your Botox treatment

Your injectable treatment is coming up and you are wondering how best to prepare? We have some important pre-treatment instructions for you so that you can get the most out of your botox treatment and minimize any unwanted effects. Read on!

  • Avoiding alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment can reduce the chances of bruising.
  • Avoiding anti-inflammatory medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve), if possible for 5 days before treatment, will also reduce the chances of bruising.
  • Avoiding supplements such as vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements for 5 days before treatment will also reduce the chances of bruising.
  • Be sure to have something to eat and hydrate with water before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of light-headedness during your treatment.
  • Please come without makeup applied or come early to remove it before your appointment time.

Appointment scheduling

Remember to schedule your botox appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. This allows time for the full effect to appear and to see if there are any small adjustments needed. It also gives time for any possible light bruising to resolve (this is not common with botox but bruising is a risk with any injection treatment).

If you have any questions or concerns before your appointment, please get in touch with us and we will be happy to help.

Looking forward to seeing you at the clinic!
