What is Laser Resurfacing for Skin?

LaseMD Ultra™ is a non‑ablative fractional laser that refreshes skin tone and texture by creating thousands of microscopic columns of controlled heat in the skin. This stimulates renewal and collagen remodelling while leaving the surface largely intact—so recovery is quick and makeup can return soon after redness settles.

It’s ideal if you’re looking to fade sun spots and pigmentation, soften fine lines, revive radiance, or support treatment of actinic keratoses.

Skin Boosters and Laser Resurfacing (why we pair them)

skincare serum

Ultra’s micro-columns create small channels. These channels help targeted creams and lotions penetrate deeper into the skin. This allows the products to work more effectively.

We often combine treatments with special ampoules or serums. For example, we use vitamin C, resveratrol, vitamin A, and tranexamic acid. These help with pigment control and skin rejuvenation.

How It Works

What to Expect

  • Consultation & prep: We will confirm your goals, skin type (Fitzpatrick), and medical history. You will receive pre-treatment instructions, such as avoiding the sun and pausing active products.
  • During treatment: You’ll feel a warm, tingling heat as we glide the handpiece. For deeper settings, numbing cream is applied. Laser time is typically 10–20 minutes depending on area.
  • Recovery: You may notice mild redness that should calm down within 1 to 2 days. After that, expect a dry “sandpapery” texture for about 5 to 6 days as tiny debris sheds. These are normal signs of renewal.
  • Results: Early brightening often appears in 1 to 2 weeks. You can expect continued improvement in texture and fine lines over 1 to 3 months as collagen remodels

A Note on Long‑term Skin Health

Recent studies show that non-ablative fractional lasers (NAFL) may help improve sun-damaged skin. They can reduce actinic damage and lower the risk of future skin cancers. This happens by enhancing cellular repair, remodeling collagen, and decreasing actinic keratoses.

While promising, these studies did not test Ultra specifically; we’ll discuss what this evidence means for you.

Before / After

You’ll see early brightening within 1–2 weeks; collagen remodeling continues 1–3 months. Best outcomes usually come from a series of treatments; results vary. Image below is after only one session to treat pigmentation.

We capture standardised before‑and‑after photos to track progress; brochure examples show results after two treatments (individual results differ).
