Belkyra Treatment Oakville: Non-Surgical Fat Reduction for Double Chin and Jowls

Belkyra® is a Health Canada-approved injectable treatment that uses deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body, to break down and absorb dietary fat.

When injected into the area beneath the chin, Belkyra® targets and destroys fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated by the body, resulting in a more contoured jawline.

Ideal candidates are adults over 18 who are bothered by moderate to severe submental fullness (double chin) and prefer a non-surgical solution. Belkyra® is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have infections in the treatment area, or have significant skin laxity.

The number of treatments varies per individual. Most patients experience visible improvement after 2 to 4 sessions, spaced at least one month apart. Some may require up to 6 sessions to achieve optimal results.

Each session typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes. A topical numbing agent or local anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort. Multiple small injections are administered under the chin. Post-treatment, you may experience swelling, bruising, or numbness in the area.

Downtime is minimal. Most patients can resume normal activities shortly after treatment. However, swelling and tenderness in the treated area can last from a few days up to two weeks.
