Botox and Its Benefits

What is Botox?

Botox is the name often given to anti-wrinkle injections. Wrinkles and fine lines form as we age and can make us look older and more tired.

Key Benefits You Can Expect

By relaxing muscle, botox works to smooth out wrinkles and is especially popular in the frown, forehead and around the eyes. Botox can give you a more youthful and refreshed look

It is a quick procedure - only taking 15 minutes to administer. Patients report feeling less tired, more relaxed and attractive following Botox. This in turn can boost confidence and give a greater sense of overall wellbeing.

Botox Treatment Areas

Our Oakville Clinic covers the following Treatment Areas

Frown Lines / Scowl Lines

This is a very popular area for Botox treatment. A quick injection of Botox relaxes these muscles, the overlying skin smooths, wrinkles become softer, and the face has a more relaxed appearance.

Forehead Lines

Botox can smooth the wrinkles on your forehead that occur when you raise up your eyebrows, relaxing these muscles allows your face to look younger and more vibrant.

Crows Feet

These are the wrinkles that form around the outside corners of the eyes when we smile. A few units of Botox smooths out those lines, keeping your eyes looking open and more refreshed.

Brow Lift

Botox can be used to improve the overall eyebrow shape. By creating a subtle change, Botox can help a drooping eyebrow to lift, opening up the eye and creating an elegant brow shape.

Bunny Lines

These are the lines visible if the nose is scrunched up. A brief injection with botox will smooth them out and give a more relaxed look.

Lipstick Lines

Sometimes called smokers lines these small vertical lines around the lips can appear when talking and giving an older appearance to the lips and mouth. Botox can soften them out giving you back a more youthful appearance.

Gummy smile

By relaxing the muscle pulling up the lip Botox can give a more natural looking smile and reduce excessive gum display above the upper lip.

Dimpled chin

With age, the chin can take on a dimpled appearance like the appearance of orange skin. Injecting botox can relax the muscle resulting in less pull on the skin and a smoother appearance.

Neck bands

Visible bands can develop in the neck as we age. This is visible when clenching teeth, or saying ‘eee’ in the mirror. This appearance can be relaxed using botox giving the neck an elegant, softer appearance.

Facial contouring

Botox can assist with slimming the lower part of the face through reducing the size of the muscle along the lower jaw. This can contour the face to a more oval, less square shape.

Teeth grinding and tension

Many of us clench or grind our teeth, this can be even more pronounced if we are experiencing stress. Botox can relax this muscle, helping to reduce associated headaches and helping to protect our teeth.

Excessive sweating

Botox can help those who suffer from overly sweaty underarms or feel self-conscious about damp patches on shirts and clothing in the underarm area. Botox reduces sweating, giving relief and confidence.

Oakville Botox - FAQs

Wrinkles develop in areas of fine skin where there is lots of repeated muscle movement such as around the eyes, the forehead and the frown area. We get more wrinkles as we age. With aging the bone structure of the face changes, we lose muscle mass and fat pad volume, ligaments in the face weaken and the skin loses elasticity and thins. All of this leads to the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Some lines are visible at rest- these are called static. The lines visible during muscle movement are called dynamic. Botox treats dynamic wrinkles. There are other options to help with static wrinkles, please just ask us.
